Scottish Social Services Council launch Workforce Data website

The SSSC launched the Scottish Social Services Workforce Data website today. For the first time the social services sector in Scotland can access a unique, free to use, online resource which provides all the workforce data and reports we publish on the social service sector in one place.

Scottish Social Services Council Data   SSSCThe website features a ground-breaking data visualisation section that allows users to interact with and compare data across six key characteristics by local authority area.

Anyone involved in planning and delivering social services in Scotland at a national or local level can use this flexible, easy-to-use tool to help understand their local workforce environment. They can identify gaps in supply, benchmark against other areas and improve their understanding and knowledge of their own and neighbouring areas.

The website holds data for the past five years and also features a calendar of events and publication dates, minutes and papers of meetings, policy documents and news items.

Area at a glance (1)The Scottish Social Services Workforce Data website will be the place where SSSC publishes its annual reports such as the Mental Health Officers’ Report 2012, the Scottish Social Services Sector: Report on 2012 Workforce Data as well as other useful data reports.

The news section keeps users informed about publication dates and updates about our work and the data revisions section contains any revisions or corrections made to previously published data or reports.

The SSSC has responsibilities as a producer of Official and National Statistics under the Code of Practice for Statistics. You can find out more about what this means on the website.
