Wendy Johnston, SSSC project officer, attended the Skills Scotland event in Glasgow in November with two Ambassadors for careers in care.  The event was held to inspire young people about their future careers and opportunities.  We managed to meet around 500 young people and teaching staff.

Andrea Glen from Quarriers was one of the ambassadors who attended this event.  Here’s what Andrea said about her experience at the event:

“I personally didn’t know what to expect when going to Skills Scotland.  The energy and ambition of these young people made me excited to see what the next generation of carers will look like.  It was a very fun and rewarding.  And the boys who came back four times to shave the balloon, on their last trip one said “I was going to do computing but I might go into adult care.”

If you are passionate about what you do and want to spread the word and encourage others into a career in care then you can join the growing network of Scottish Ambassadors for Careers in Care.
