CELCIS training

Did you know the Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland (CELCIS) offer a wide range of learning and development and will tailor a course to fit your organisation?

celcisLet them know what you need, where you are and they’ll come to you.  The training is delivered by expert CELCIS staff and consultants, who combine their own frontline experience and understanding of the sector, with memorable and effective delivery methods.

If you’re currently in the process of planning professional development opportunities for your team, then it may be helpful to look at some of the topics CELCIS can provide training in:

  • attachment, trauma and resilience
  • care planning
  • children’s rights
  • child protection
  • communicating with children and young people
  • connecting with children and young people with social communication difficulties
  • disability awareness
  • implementing Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)
  • implementing the children and young people act
  • mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people

  • social pedagogy
  • the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people

  • understanding suicide and self harm.


All of the training courses can be tailored to fit your needs and can be held in your venue of choice and on a date suitable to you.  Costs start at £350 for a half day, or £550 for a full day.
