A day out in George Square

On Sunday 6 December the children and staff from North Ayrshire Council’s Mount View Children’s Unit took a trip on the train to Glasgow.

The fun filled day started off with a walk around the Christmas Market at St. Enoch Square then in to Hamleys toy shop in the St. Enoch Centre.

They then went out to the corner of Argyle Street and Buchanan Street to watch the first couple of hundred Santa’s run past in the Santa Dash.  Then we went on to George Square to see the final few hundred cross the finish line.

Once at George Square it was time for a winter warmer.  They went to the temporary Winter Lodge for hot chocolates.

After a ride on the swings and skating on the outdoor ice rink the day was topped off with  a burger from the Meats of the World stall at the Christmas Market.  Only the staff were brave enough to try the Kangaroo burgers though!
