Festivities at the top of the UK

The UK’s most northerly care home, Nordalea Care Centre in Baltasound, Unst supports seven people with various needs.

christmas treeThis Christmas they have a few fun activities planned.

Kicking off on13 December, the school choir visited to sing carols getting everyone into the Christmas spirit.

More school children made their regular quarterly visit to the home later the same week when they played their musical instruments and sang.  They then spent time talking with residents and helping give out snacks, teas and coffees.

Louise Paul, Senior Social Care Worker tells us more:

“Customers love to see the children regularly and often talk about “how they’ve improved” with their music. Often at this time of year they sing songs which they perform in their school concert – we are often their practice run!”

“On the Tuesday before Christmas we have planned a friends and family night, this will include music and signing from a few local artists, followed by mince pies.”

On Christmas day Santa arrives and delivers presents to all.
