Caithness Christmas hamper cheer at White Heather Homecare

Mary Campbell was the first recipient this year of Christmas hampers made up and distributed by staff at White Heather Homecare.

_GM12493bMary has always lived locally. Now ninety, she was born and brought up on Shore Street, Thurso. She remembers growing up in a happy and busy home along with her sister and nine brothers who sadly have all passed away, so she values the company from her White Heather Homecare support workers.

Mary said:

“The hamper is a great treat and it will last into the New Year.”

White Heather Homecare Regional Manager Rachelle MacNab brought up the idea of the hampers at a staff meeting and the support workers were all keen.

Rachelle said:

“I approached Tesco Community Champion and the Co-op and got donations. Then the staff chipped in some money, and one senior support worker even baked Christmas cakes. There was a real buzz as staff gave up their own time to make up the hampers. It just shows that our staff are always happy to go beyond their remit. They’re a great team.”
