The second phase of the Review of Social Work Education is now complete and we are holding an event to hear the evidence so far in Glasgow on Wednesday 23 March.
The event brings together around 100 stakeholders including social workers, universities, employers, carers and people using social services. They will hear from university and employer partnerships commissioned to carry out research into different aspects of social work education and have the opportunity to inform how we take these findings forward.
Delegates will also have the chance to explore the different options for implementing a probationary year for newly qualified social workers (NQSW).
The event will also look at the revision of the Standards in Social Work Education (SiSWE), post registration training and learning, a standard for NQSW and developing an improved model of integrated learning.
The feedback and outcomes from the event will help the Review of Social Work Education Strategic Group decide on what needs to happen next.
