Review of the Scottish Government’s safer recruitment guidance

The SSSC and the Care Inspectorate are working together to update the Scottish Government’s national guidance on the recruitment of people who work with people who use social services in Scotland to make it as current and relevant as possible.

SG recruitmentWe would like to thank everyone who responded to our recent consultation, telling us your experiences of the existing guidance, what further guidance you would like to see and the proposed new format. We have now analysed the responses, which were mostly positive and in support of the proposed changes, which will help us to take this work forward.

The new guidance will update the national guidance and include examples of good practice from across the public sector. Through the consultation a number of organisations agreed to share their tools and examples with us which we will look at with a group of stakeholders.

We are aiming to introduce the new resources in October 2016.  They will be available in a printable PDF format alongside the online resource on the Care Inspectorate’s Hub.
