Balhousie staff raise money for residents with Munro hike

Forty one staff and relatives from Balhousie Care Group raised over £1,000 for the Resident’s Comfort Fund with a hike up Glen Clova on Saturday 4 June.

Balhousie fund raisingWith the heat making conditions tough, the group completed a 10 mile-round climb bagging both Mayar and Driesh Munros along the way. The hike rounds off a week of fundraising activities at Balhousie Care Group as Dementia Awareness Week, organised by Alzheimer Scotland, came to an end.

Staff organised the fundraising effort in support of their Together We’re Great initiative, which focuses on how staff, residents and the wider community can come together to go that extra mile and create exceptional care across all 25 of Balhousie’s care homes.

Louise Barnett, Operations Director at Balhousie Care Group said:

‘Everyone at Balhousie is exceptionally proud of those who took part in Saturday’s hike and I’m thrilled by the fantastic effort from those who took part. The money raised will provide residents with the chance to do something special – whether it’s a day out or fish suppers. We look forward to seeing them enjoy whatever they chose to do with the money raised.’
