Why not have an SDS blether?

SDS Blether Week 13 – 17 June

SDSSDS Blether Week is a time for people to have conversations to help develop their understanding of self-directed support (SDS).

The aim of SDS Blether Week is help bring everyone involved in SDS together to:

  • create a shared understanding of SDS
  • share stories and evidence
  • promote the principles of choice and control as fundamental to improved health and wellbeing.

What we’re doing

Our SDS and Integration Team will be sharing some of our activities and support for workforce development through Twitter. Follow them at @SSSCsds_int.

What others are doing

Local authority, third sector and independent organisations are getting involved to share their stories of SDS and will be sharing them on Twitter using #SDSblether.

We look forward to seeing what you are doing.

What is self-directed support?

Self-directed supported (SDS) allows people, their carers and families to make informed choices about what their support looks like and how it is delivered. Having greater control of your life and decision making leads to improved health and wellbeing.
