NQSW research starts this February

A five-year national study of the experiences of newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) starts this month.

We’ll ask all NQSWs who registered with us in 2016 to fill out an online survey.

The study is the most comprehensive research into NQSWs anywhere in the UK. We commissioned Glasgow Caledonian University to carry out the study to explore how new social workers develop in their early careers.

As well as an annual online survey the research will also gather evidence from focus groups and in-depth interviews over the next five years.

The study aims to establish key performance benchmarks for the social service profession as a whole by looking at the ongoing needs of social workers as they progress through their careers.

We will contact everyone who registered with us as a NQSW in 2016 directly to take part in the study.

You can find out more about the research in our previous news story.
