SSSC announce Voluntary Sector Development Funding for 2017-18

We have taken over managing the Voluntary Sector Development Funding (VSDF) at the request of Scottish Government and would like to invite applications for 2017-18.
VSDF supports a range of voluntary sector organisations providing social services which are registered with the Care Inspectorate. We would encourage small and medium-sized organisations in particular to apply.

The Scottish Government has confirmed they will provide around £900,000 this year, in line with the funding made available in previous years. Funding for future years, as usual, is subject to Ministerial decision taking into account Government priorities.

You can apply for VSDF to contribute to the costs associated with your staff meeting the required registration qualification criteria we set. It helps employers towards achieving a qualified workforce. The maximum level of contribution available is £1200 to help with the costs of Scottish Vocational Qualifications Social Services and Healthcare at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework level 6. This is the benchmark qualification as set out in the SSSC’s qualifications lists for registration at:

VSDF funding this year, as agreed by us, the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS) and Scottish Government, is for:

  • workers in housing support and care at home services.

The register for support workers in housing support and care at home services opens on 2 October 2017.

The priority is to support as many staff as possible to meet the required registration qualification with the funding available and to get value for money. There will also be an upper ceiling of £25,000 that any one organisation can receive.

Please send completed applications to: by 1 September 2017.
