Do you have the right people managing your workers’ SSSC registrations and endorsing new registration applications?
If you’re not sure it’s time to check the countersignatories for your organisation.
It’s really important that you keep your list of countersignatories up to date so that only the right people have access to your organisation’s data.
If people change roles or leave your organisation it might mean they are no longer suitable to be a countersignatory. You need to tell us about this so we can block their access to make sure they can no longer see your data.
How to check your countersignatories
Log into your MySSSC account and choose option 2 from the list of actions for employers. If you need to end a countersignatory role choose to edit the detail, end the role and the date that any endorsements are valid until.
Do you employ support workers in care at home services and/or housing support services?
The SSSC Register for support workers in care at home services and housing support services opened on 2 October.
You may have a lot of workers to get registered so it is important you check that you have the right people and enough of them set up to endorse applications.
If you don’t have the right countersignatories set up it will make it difficult for your workers to get their application checked and signed off. This could delay the processing of their registration application. We want to avoid you or your workers having any problems so get your organisation ready and nominate the appropriate people now.
Please make sure you and anyone you nominate has read the countersignatory guidance. This explains the roles and responsibilities of an SSSC countersignatory and will help identify who in your organisation should hold this level of responsibility and be given access to see the data we hold about your organisation and your workers.
When you decide who the right people are, the lead countersignatory can log into MySSSC and select option 9 from the list of employer’s actions and provide their details or you can fill in the additional countersignatory form and return it to us. If your organisation has no lead countersignatory set up you can fill in the lead countersignatory form and return it to us.
