We are welcoming applications for the next Dementia Champions professional development course.
Would you like to take part in a free, five day programme delivered at the enhanced dementia practice level? The learning programme is open to people working in either health or social services. SSSC applicants must be supported by their social service employer and will need to demonstrate an ability to inspire others and effect positive change.
The course will be delivered by the University of the West of Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland in four locations across Scotland between March and August 2018.
What is a Dementia Champion?
Within their existing job roles, and through a diverse range of activities, primarily in acute general hospital settings, but also in the community, Dementia Champions seek to improve the complete care and support experience for people with dementia, their families and carers. Currently there are over 100 Scottish social service Dementia Champions working in social work, day care, care home and housing support roles across public, independent and third sector organisations. To support individuals in their local communities, this year we would particularly welcome applications from those working in care at home services.
Application packs have been widely distributed, however if you have not received one through your organisation you can request an application pack and more information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date for applications is 16 February 2018.
