In November we told you about our decision to increase the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) level of the minimum management qualification requirement for managers in adult services from 8 to 9. This followed our consultation on supervisory and management requirements.
SCQF level 9 more accurately reflects the skills and knowledge managers need to carry out their management role and is more closely aligned with the national benchmark qualification at level 10.
Almost all current management qualifications we accept are at SCQF level 9 or above already. We will continue to accept qualifications that met the old requirement as long as individuals achieve them before 31 December 2019.
We would like to reassure you that this change will affect very few – if any – managers.
