We’re working with a network of volunteer ambassadors to promote careers in social services.
Ambassadors for Careers in Care are passionate about inspiring people to consider a career in this amazing but often misunderstood sector.
As an ambassador you’ll take part in a range of projects to promote careers in social services and will agree to attend or organise a minimum of one event per year and your employer must agree to support you. The events could be at schools, employment centres, colleges or national careers events so you’ll need to be confident in sharing your own career story and be able to describe your knowledge, skills and responsibilities in a positive way. You’ll also share resources from the SSSC, like our qualification pathways and careers booklet.
This is a great professional development opportunity for motivated and talented workers, and employers can also benefit from a positive reputation and new recruitment opportunities in their communities.
Ambassadors communicate in an online group so you’ll need your own email address and access to the internet on a mobile phone or computer.
If you are an employer or worker please contact us to express your interest. We’ll let you know what the role involves and the qualities we look for in ambassadors. We’ll also explain the benefits to you and how we will offer support.
