We are welcoming applications for the next Dementia Champions professional development course.
Would you like to take part in a free, five day programme delivered at the enhanced dementia practice level? The learning programme is open to people working in either health or social services. SSSC applicants must be supported by their social service employer and will need to demonstrate an ability to inspire others and effect positive change.
The course will be delivered by the University of the West of Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland in five locations across Scotland between April and August 2019.
What is a Dementia Champion?
Within their existing job roles, and through a diverse range of activities primarily in acute general hospital settings, but also in the community, Dementia Champions work to improve the complete care and support experience for people with dementia, their families and carers. Currently there are 117 social service Dementia Champions working in social work, day care, care home and housing support roles across public, independent and third sector organisations. To support individuals in their local communities, this year the SSSC would particularly welcome applications from those working in hospital and community based services.
Application packs have been distributed widely, however if you have not received this through your organisation you can ask for an application pack and further information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
We must receive your application by 5pm on Friday 7 December 2018.
