What does good leadership look like in Scotland’s social services?

Thursday 1 June 2017 - 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Renfield Training and Conference Centre, 260 Bath Street
G2 4JP

About the event

The Enabling leadership research (SSSC, 2016) identified what good leadership looks like in Scotland’s social services and includes a logic model which shows the role good leadership plays in inputs and activities and captures the links to outputs and how these contribute to positive outcomes for people using services.

At this event you’ll explore the logic model, which includes revised leadership outcomes, consider how you could adapt and use it in your workplace and have time to reflect on the factors which may hinder or encourage good leadership development.

Following the event we want to identify and work with three partners from across the social services sector to test the logic model in practice. Learning and practical examples will be gathered and shared with the wider sector to help promote the logic model and ways organisations can implement it.

Outcomes from the day

By the end of the day you will:

  • better understand how the leadership logic model can be used to support leadership activity in your service and across the sector
  • be clearer about the enablers and barriers to good leadership and how to work with these
  • have reflected on your role and how the logic model could support your practice
  • have considered if you wish to test out the logic model in more detail.

Who is the event for?

Managers and strategic leaders working in health and social care.

This is a free event and we will provide lunch and refreshments.

This event is supported by Scottish Care and CCPS
