About the event

A free event for workers in the Western Isles

What keeps you going in the rapidly changing world of social services and healthcare? What enables you to continue focusing on what matters to people? What helps you to support and influence colleagues to make sure personal outcomes for people are met?

This free event will give you an opportunity to share your leadership thoughts, experiences and wisdom with others from across social services in the Western Isles and consider how you and others can use leadership capability to support change. You’ll explore the importance of recognising your own leadership skills in your day-to-day work and discuss how you can use the resources on Step into Leadership to support your leadership development. We will also explore the role of good supervision and the importance of leading your own learning and development.

By the end of the day you will:

  • understand what’s meant by everyday leadership and how to use your leadership capability to support people to have more of a say in the service they receive
  • have started to recognise your own and others’ leadership strengths and areas for development
  • understand what you should expect from supervision and how to use different types of leadership learning to enhance your supervision experience
  • be aware of a range of resources to support you to practice effectively.

We will provide lunch and refreshments.
